As you might know, or not know, I am new to this furry stuff, so I have some questions that I would like to be answered.
-First off! What is a furry?
I have some confusion if a furry is a human with the traits of an animal added to him/her, or is it a animal with human traits added to him/her?
For example, would a furry want to look like a fox, or be a fox?
Also, does a furry have to be an animal?! What if I wanted to be a robot! A ghost! A centipeit! Or even a Tree?! Would it still be a furry?
Humans with the skin of a fox, or a fox with the brain of a human!?
Do you scale down/up the animal size to fit with everone elses?

Ok, the main thing I wana know is WHY DO PEOPLE POUNCE ON OTHERS!? Isent that the way they catch and kill their prey? Haveing someone tackle me is a way of saying hi? What?! Need some help with the pouncing things... b.b
Role playing. I am confused with this as well. How does someone role play? If we are who we say we are than why pretend! Sorry, but I am use to just being who I am, the role playing thing never comes to mind. I just do it. Does there have to be a line between fake and real online?!

Okay, first question:
Furry can be pretty much anything you want.
There are two basic styles-anthro and feral. Anthro, which is latin for 'human', is short for anthropomorphic. This style is based off of a human body, with animalistic features-often a muzzle, ears, paws, and tail, and of course fur. Feral-style is more of the actual ANIMAL-just a fox, basically. It all depends on your take on furry. This is why the art is better known than the fandom XD The brain, however, is almost exclusively human; there may be animalistic bits and pieces ((such as eating raw meat or hunting smaller furs...stuffs like that)).
Second question:
Pouncing. Ahhh, I luff pouncing :3
Basically, it's a form of loose affectionate greeting or playful gesturing. It's tolerated by most furs, though not everyone likes 'pouncing' or 'huggling' or 'snuggles'. These are all pretty common, also 'skritching' or 'scritching'. It's basic, like a...well, a one-armed quick hug, or perhaps a peck on the cheek. Don't be startled or upset by it. If you're an anime fan, however, it's actually a synonym for 'glomping'. XD Makes it easy, eh?
Third question:
Roleplaying is...complicated. If you feel most comfortable remaining in the same persona as you are IRL, go on. If it puts you at ease to take on a new personality, do it! That's the beauty of the internet ((so long as you're no creep)); you can be whoever you want to be. As long as you don't get off-topic, then do whatever you want!

BECAUSE! I am trying to learn how to make sprites, it's something I wish to learn. I looked up Hamster+Sprites and found some things that I could use to help me with my own work. I am trying to draw, but it's hard to make things useing a mouse, try it.
Whats wrong with being a Hamster! I just like them, anything wrong with that? Kind of the same reason you wanted to be a Flying Demotic Fox, gothic style.

As a fox it seamed to me he might have been thinking of you as small and crunshy.

Small and crunshy?! Hahaha, I think you got the wrong idea, Fox. It is the exact reverse, crunshy and small we are. More fluffy than crunchy accualy... Not good to eat.
