Funnily enough, I've only known I've been a furry for two days. It started when I was taking one of those online quizzes (what internet subculture are you? heh, funny stuff mates *wink*) and it told me I was a furry. I had no idea what this meant, so I looked it up. Yes, I've lived a very sheltered *cough* stifled *cough* life. After I'd read a few articles, I realized that I was reading a perfect description of myself; 'thinks of self as animal trapped in human body, very cuddly and affectionate, adopts others as brothers/sisters/pack...you know the drill. So I looked up a site for RP. Found this one. And...I love it.
It's sort of funny, because I always knew I was somehow different than other people, and I've always been into drawing cartoon animals and watching disney movies. The Fox and the Hound, 101 dalmations, and The Lion King have been my favorite three movies since I first saw them. I just never knew there was a name to what I am.
And now I do.
Yay. *claps paws*
But I've lived, like I've said, a stifled life. I'm 14 (that's ancient in dog years ><) and I'm still not even allowed to ride my bike around in my neighborhood. Which is an extremely small and safe neighborhood, may I add; almost every adult who lives here has one or two kids. So...I might need some help asking some obvious questions. Sorry, guys.
Also, I apologize for the long post. ^^*

About three years ago. ive been pretty much alone in the furry world for a while, funny thing, I joined the forum not 2 days ago. ive only been in one other forrum, which was completly packed and pretty much drove me from forums for a while, until i joined here. I love this place already, its pretty much undercrowded...lol. even though I new ive always known i was i fur, i just didnt realize it. And recently, like last year, i started spiritualism,(or shaminism, i call it both)and its been great. I hope im not to much trouble here *heh heh*

Aww, that's cute. I wanna do that...
Snowfang, was it furry2furry? A lot of people have been saying that it's too packed over there.

A little less then a year for me. I think it was just before halloween last year.
I was cruising around the web and I came across some forum that mentioned furries (not sure what forum it was). I think to myself wtf is a furry, so I look into it and one of the first hits on google almost exactly described me. And so the wolf named Burn was born.

I didn't really know; I just guessed...I took a look at that site and it was packed with waaaay too many people. It seemed hard to get close to anyone. Sara and Tecoon worked out a pretty good miracle. Also, it seemed to have quite a few trolls.
Haha, Burn, your story is a lot like mine and killerlove's. ^_^

I have always been a furry. But I consider my self more than that.
I have had a curiosity of everything fantasy and real.
Am big into medieval stuff weapons armor magic. I love science and
physics and the natural world at large. Always loved animals. I have a
special bond with them that most pets will come to me. I have been
bitten several times but I don't blame the animal. It is just something to
expect. As far as finding out what a furry is well I found that out about 5 years
ago.
Sad however I grew up hating people and being human my self. But not now.
Being a furry for me is not a question of who I am but more of what I like.
And I like what I see in the people in the furry culture. Vary open-minded and accepting.
And I feel I have much in common with them.

I myself, have just recently discovered the term "furry," but I still think I might have been one for a long time...

When I was young, I use to pretend I was Simba from the Lion King. I even praticed roaring and stealth. I allways loved pretending to be an animal, it was something I did all the time!
Elementry School. Every Day at recess, my and my friend would go outside and pretend we were animals! It was VERY fun! We found "food," built "shelters," and even ran away from the dog catcher! It was a fun game I "invented" on my first year of elementry. My friends and I did it for the pure reason of fun!
When I was 11, I started to play online games-One was called WARCRAFT 3.
While playing one day, I meet this one player named Odin. Him and me had MANY adventures! None of us thought of it as "Role Playing," it is just what we did.
Mabye I will tell of our adventures later, because I think I went off Topic! >_>
Sorry for long Post! Talking alot is one of my downfalls. @_@

I have felt like this for 8 years but only discovered that other felt the same. Still havent gotten a suit but am designing one now. I Tryed to repress the feelings until september of this year so I am learning to embrace it now. I started to notice in Highschool when everyone was wearing there instyle clothing and I wanted to wear the mascots suit instead.

Sorry for the rant.

Whata TZTV2? I, dont understand what that is at all.
*Raises paw* QUESTION! Isssssssss a half-breed counted as a human or animal?
In a world where all the animals look like humans, what would be the normal animals? Would there be no animals?! Just fur-humans? After 1 year you should know! Please tell!

Sooooo that would mean that there would be Human/bunnies and smaller bunnies? More, animal like bunnies. (Or rabbits or hares) The whole thing with the humans=animals confuses me, says I to subject who is receaving the conversation from that of what I am typing, was typing.
So far it seams like there is two types of furs, the furs that are a humanoid verson of an animal, and the animal just it's self. Could you explain mor Astral fox please?! @.@

well i kind of agree with you on the animal, smaller animal thing, but in a mixed species world, would'nt all us furs be the different forms of animals? ( or at least the equivalent)

Or or... Would it be like all animals are human like, but are scaled down or up acording to how large there normal species is compared to others?!
?.? Your confusing me! Explain explain!! Draw a picture Astral fox! Please!!!

Well... I lied >.> LOL I've been a furry since I was at least six! It was Fox and the Hound... or Robin Hood either that turned me furry, it was Charles Dickens' David Copperfield Very Happy XD the animated furry version that was shown on tv in Christmas of 1993 :3 And as a child when I was sick and dreaming/hallucinating... it would be of being in that movie XD and while David was a cat not a fox, he had the markings of a fox and for a kid who did not even remember the movie is pretty amazing what I have sealed away in my brain ^^

Wazachow?! YOU LIER! All liers must fact the punishment of the DRUNKEN VIPER!
*A Viper, who is very drunk, is droped upon Mythosloki.*
No animal can stand up to the Pie-eyed Power of the Drunken Viper! It injects pure alcohol directly into your blood stream, makeing you drunk as well! Hahaha! Go Viper!

ROBIN HOOD! I reamber that movie. If only more foxes stole from the rich, the would would be a better place. Fox and the Hound! I liked that movie also, but it was sad and depressing...
Wait a blasted moment good fox!
Fox and the hound has a world of humans, with animals who have human minds.
Robin Hood is a world where the animals -are- human!
Strange... very strange indeed.

Ohagongi, if ja keep your brain sealed away, than what lies inside will never be shown to the world! Unseal your mind, and tell us what you have to tell in order to tell yourself who you are!

Just a little less then 10 years for me, My brother shoved all his wolf stuff on me which i happily accepted and I got my first 3 cats, finaly what pushed me over the edge was my brother giving me his art sketch book which was full of animal drawings he did for a class (most being werewolfs). Right there and then I was pretty much a Furry I started drawing Human/Animals(they really sucked but still) writing short little storys about furry adventures(sucky ones) then I watched a thing on egypt and got into there mytholigy and stuff go figure their gods were pretty much furrys, all this lead to me wanting to be one and so I made my own little inner image of myself which got me daydreaming constantly my character forming more details and I gave him a mental structure as time progressed. 2 years ago I stumbled upon actual furryness which got me trying to find more..... which i did (bad and good) mostly I just ignored the yiffyness and saved ones that I thought were cool then I moved to Spinchat early last year which I found some furrys that figured out I was a furry. They told me about Furtopia, I hooked up with Dante/Stuart/killerlove and he led me here.... the end.

Sorry that I just dumped my life story on ya...... I didn't realize it was that long I apoligize

It's a good life story, but I wonder. Did you come up with your character suddenly? Just "figured out?" Or is it changing with yourself, alive in a way. For me, 3 years I have been useing Medic_Marine, but I never once was albe to figure out what it looked like for certain. Like reading a book, you know something's there, who it is, and what it is doing but you still dont see it...

I don't want to get off topic but i will anwser that real quick.
My character was created when I was six and yes it morphed for it used to be a cat... then at seven I found a pic of a Arctic Fox, and got a picture to hang on my wall of one. My new found love of the Arctic Fox made my character into one while still keeping some cat traits, he kept morphing after that changing with new ideas and concepts finaly reaching what he is today. And yes I know exactly how my character looks EXACTLY...... like I said I daydream.

Jeez. When'd this thread become reactive? My bad, guys, I wasn't here. Yeah, Fee, I used to think the F in DWAF was for 'feline' for some reason...even though I knew you were a fox when I thought about it...eh, that's weird. O_O

Strange, I truthfully thought that DWAF was some "l33t" slang for Dwarf. Only missing 1 letter. Hey ginny, is your story like Felix's? Tell please!
