Instinct is different than common sense:
If you do something by instinct, it's because some gut feeling is telling you you need to do it ((or not do it)) without any conscious thought involved.
Common sense is when you think about something, then decide "Yeah, I oughta do that" or "heck no I ain't doing that". See?

Emotion is both Instinct and Common sence, because your emotions effect your reasoning too. (If you REALLY hate someone, you might not be as nice to them as you are to your best friend. -Hate-)
It's not that complex! You dont need any thought to hate someone, or to be scared, (Unless you make yourself hate someone, mabye by blaming them for something)
Hmmm.. When your scared, Fear is the first emotion to say to you "RUN AWAY!", if you did that than *that* would be instinct. If you had some self controll and used Imformation you gained over your life to handle the emotion in a differnt way, than thats reason. To sum it up, I think Instinct is your auto-reaction to an emotion of some sort.
*begins talking to myself* Chim chiminey, Chim chiminey, Chim chim cher-ee...

No, emotions are different than both. An emotion is a REACTION to the way you react to an instinct or your common sense; it's a consequence of a consequence, if you will. And you do need thought to both hate AND love, because if you don't think then you have no reason to hate or love someone. Emotion is a completely different thing than instinct or common sense. Emotions only come after one or both of them. It's an individual concept. And fear is an emotion, true, but if your instinct tells you to run away and you feel fear, they probably occur within an instant of each other, but common sense is involved in that too because you're making a conscious decision on how to deal with the problem at hand.

No, you NEED hate, love, pain, all of the emotions to survive! Fear tells you to run away, not run away = fear! Really, find something that someone reasons without useing emotion. You are suppost to dislike pain, so you will avoide it- You body wants you to avoide pain because pain is telling you that something is damaging your chance to live!
I think your looking at emotions the wrong way, they are not just some side order on the main corse of life. Even being hungry is an emotion! Yes this is a great subject and all... But it is a subject that is very opinionated, I dont think anyone of us is making progress to convince one another OR even compermise. s.s

Right, right, that's what I'm saying: you feel fear and simultaneously the conscious side of your brain is telling you to run away. And you do need all emotions to survive, that's what I'm saying. However, emotions ARE a reaction, because everyone feels differently about things-take this arguement, for example; you're feeling the emotions of frustration and irritation ((I assume)) while trying to convince me that your way is right. I however feel slightly amused and interested, because this is a topic I like to discuss. Therefore, you take one solid FACT that's already there, not distorted in either of our views, and then get a couple different reactions, otherwise known as EMOTIONS out of it.

Your emotions are like the nerves on your paw, it is more of a data collecter. But the problem is your body cant speak, so instead of "Hey, your arm is broken, might want to not use it much" it just sends you PAIN! You can not directly make emotions, but you can change other things that will affect your emotions in a certain way. (Punching a wall)
I do belive you need all emotions to survive, unless you can think of one or two...
You need emotions: Solid fact.

Do you know WHY you feel your emotions from this argument? Because you think you know much about. Because you think your "winning" or correct, your mind rewards you with happyness, or joy. (It does this because Beating someone else is a good thing survival wise) Your interested because you seek more joy, or happyness.

We are disgined more complex than you might think, Ginny. Everything in us has a reason, not to just make you "happy," but to allow you and your offspring to live.
>) I myself am enjoying this, lets go on...

You ARE role playing right now! At least to me you are, but to a *pro* like Ginny you might not be.
All you need is a simple start, than you just keep linking more and more and more to it! It dosent need a topic, or even a theme. Find a conflict, or make one. >)
Subjects are guid lines for furs that cant trust their own imagination, and others.
Like that one with school? Do you have any idea how much I want to interupt! ANY IDEA?!.. But I wont. Too much fear now... (*Flash back *) o.o
ANYWAY, the best thing I can tell you- Adapt. Dont ignore others either, or what they do. It's a simple thing that keeps life interesting!
Than agean I cant RP, ask Ginny about that stuff. I just like to have fun!

...Dude, Medic, I'm like three years older than you, don't be condescending to me, okay? Thanks.

I agree, yeah YOU NEED EMOTIONS, I've said that from the start. Every living thing has instincts and thus emotion. And your mind is not 'rewarding' you with happiness or joy or whatever, your mind is simply REACTING to what's going on around you with according emotion. The mind is not a living entity seperate from yourself ((scientifically speaking, that is. Dante and I believe something that may slightly contridict that, but whatever)), it is simply a bunch of brain tissue that releases different things according to what's going on in front of you. For instance; if something suddenly sets your nerves off, it registers in your conscious brain as the emotion 'fear', and tells your mind to release adrenaline, a chemical which basically puts everything in your body on overload so you can run faster, pull harder, whatever you need to do to get away from whatever is 'scaring' you. What it's TECHNICALLY doing is making your heart beat faster, your lungs contract quicker so you can take in more oxygen, and sending all your nerves into hyperdrive. On the other hand, if the person you like suddenly looks down and kisses you right on the lips, your brain reacts by sending a chemical known as endorphins ((sp?)) into your blood. This causes a similar reaction as adrenaline, but I don't know the details. It makes you happy, basically. But it isn't as though your mind has a mind of it's own; it's not going 'okay, she won, so I'll let her feel the emotion 'happy'' or anything. It's a bunch of chemicals and yucky bloody flesh.

Oh ya thats great and all Ginny, you know what happens. But you dont know why.
Why would SP go into your blood? How would that help you! Your very funny Ginny, you know how something works, yet lack the knowlage on what it does and why it does it.
Yes, "It's a bunch of chemicals and yucky bloody flesh." That pile of mush is there for a reason, Ginny.
On a side note, I am back from NY! Also, your brain does reward you. Think of you as a little puppy dog, and your mind giving you treats when you do right or good thing, while scolding you for doing something bad.
NEW YORK CITY!

OMG, I told you, I KNOW it's there for a freaking reason! The brain is not a seperate entity from you, it IS you, dammit, and while the brain itself is essentially chemicals, the MIND is what makes you yourself. Seriously, I know what happens AND i know why way more than you might think, and I'm in such a bad mood right now it isn't even funny. Stuff's going on in your mind that you have no idea about. It's scary, it's not right, and though it stays silent in most people there is insanity. You wanna know how that works? Two different ways-One, you get way overloaded with a specific type of chemical. Two, your emotions go so freaking crazy they basically explode your brain.

Give up, kid. This is seriously starting to piss me off. And believe me, it's really hard to make me angry.

it is hard to make Gin-chan angry, so yea seriousy, give up, she knows what she's talking about, and there are other ways for insanity, but you dont need to know those, but believe me, seeing axe hacked corpses from who knows how long ago, thats one way, of course, its not like that's what i do in my free time, but lets not go into that, and of course, if you make me really angry like its going, i might just tell you how you can be smarter and stronger, course that would mean every single person like Ginny and a certain un named someone would be after me, so just dont make me mad any time soon Smile

I think I've figured you out, Medic. Whenever you're in an arguement you seem to just spout the same illogical points and just twist them around to make them look as though you have more things to support yourself. When in reality it's the same thing over again and you just keep repeating it until the person you're arguing is so infuriated that they just don't want to hear it anymore.

*sighs* ahhh yup... This was predictable! Think I said something about this a few posts up as well.
FOMF, great excuse for yourself. Problem is, one would get infurated because they knew the other was right, and themself unable to produce an argument that supports what they think so they deny the argument that the other presented to make theirs look correct. I suggest you find something that disproves the repeated statement while at the same time supports your own, much better at convincing others too.
Killer love, a topic is more like the subject of *now*. The Introduction was the starting topic, but that was at the start. The start was in the past and the past is not now so the topic is not of now but of then, making it ok to change topics. -Besides, your not helping much to stay on topic are you? Saying your off topic is not getting you back on topic.
Ginny, you could at least of filled that space with words that are likely to be ignored, but it would look better at least. Dissapearing will not solve anything, say what you want to say! (It's ok to flame me) ^-^

That's not the only reason someone would get infuriated. Apparently you have absolutely no idea what it's like to hear the same wrong facts repeatedly, no matter how much they reword it. Examle: I am by no means a racist. However, my little brother calls me so just for the fact that he thinks it's funny. He'll come into a room and say "Hey, Kara, why are you such a rasists?" or "Why are you (insert some ethnic group here)-hater?" The first few months that he started doing this, I would flare up and deny everything he said. But now I've gotten so annoyed and infuriated by the repetition of his false accusations that I've just stopped trying and let him talk to himself.
In your arguement with Ginny, you were using your intereptations of what emotions are while Ginny was using proven, factual evidence. If you don't believe me, print out the arguement and show it to a Bio teacher at your school and ask them which side has the right idea and I assure you that they'll tell you Ginny was in the right. However, if you continue to say that facts are wrong, that only shows you're the one who's really in denial about being wrong.

Given any proof your not racist? Facts are a good thing! Cant just say "I can fly" if you cant fly! (Get a tape recorder and record him making false statements about you, just an idea)
Fomf, I think you are confused. (As I am to you)
Overall I dont even think there was an "argument!" No clear question or position on anything.
(I dont know what I did this--->) G-I-N-N-Y, her statement (in 1 post) was 100% fact! BUT had nothing to do with the argument! It's like...
"Your a racist!" "No I am not!" "Natzies were raciest." "What? That has nothi-" "Racism is the belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others, and are a target of Discrimination or prejudice because of that." "?!"

See! That example was based on a situation between you and your brother.
Yourself, FOMF, trying to argure something you know is true. (I did!)
Your brother, is the one with the FACTS! They are related to racism but have nothing to do with the argument at hand.

When your brother said things about you that you know wernt true, it wasent a great feeling. How do you think I feel?! Your words became the same false accusations that annoyed and infuriated yourself..

As a wise rabbit once said-
A drunken grizzly will maul not the blind shoemaker.
