Difficulty?Hey all you gaming furs out there!
I'm just wondering, when you start a new game and are given an option- what level of difficulty do you pick?
Do you go straight to hard/expert even though you have no idea what your doing, or do you wander around in easy mode to get accustomed to the game. Are you a sucker for a challenge, or are you there simply to enjoy the game stress free?
Also- Do you ever use cheats? If you do, why?!
Explanations are nice!
As for me, I always go for the most difficult option because my big bro is a competitive gamer and I feel like I gotta live up to his 'hardcore' standard and uphold our gaming honor! Of course this usually means I'm staring at a 'game over' screen half the time- Especially for DDR... (It's because the pad is like 15x to big for me!) That game is evil..

There's no "gaming honor" in exceeding your capabilities. Like I repeatedly tell my own little brothers, no one will think any less of you, and many will be impressed that you know your limits.
Personally, I think (and tell my brothers this also) that cheat codes are only good after you've played it through. Many of the more powerful ones (like invincibility/level skip) were not really meant for consumers, just a debug tool. I've found them to be very useful in testing, myself.
And as far as difficulty, I prefer not to rush "half-cocked" into HARD or equivalent. I try to stay on NORMAL while getting a feel for control schemes, AI, and physics (and story) before challenging myself in a stressful fashion.
