I just spent 4 hours in and ER. Got my arm stitched up. hmm...started when I got home. Threw all my stuff down and got my katana out for practice.
Attempted a hand spin and missed.
took out a quarter-sized chunk of skin 5 inches below my wrist. Didnt feel a thing.
None the less, i had to sit and watch the doctor stretch out the remaining skin across the wound and stitch it closed. It was cool! XD
It only took them about thirty min to close it, but i had to wait 3 and a half hours with my arm upright in the waiting room.
I had seven stitches and have to wear them for 7 days.
2 hours later, still no pain. I feel great now^^

Some people have a high tolerance to pane. I am not one of them. I think that would have greatly bothered me. No, I know it would have. But it dose not do good to just wine about it. It sounds like you handled it vary well. Good to hear you are doing well after that. And I would guess it will not keep you from practicing. I hope not. I had a cheep ass katana of my own it broke when I was chopping away at a snow man I made. I broke the handle. I need a good one that can be used like from Bud K. I have seen a few from there mag that mite be good. In time I may have one.

Well, its hard to practice with it now. The damn welds busted that held the hilt guard to the blade. its still atached, but its all rattly.
The cuts almost all the way healed over now, too.

You cut yourself with a katana?! That's weird! I feel sorry for you, it must not be fun waiting for 3 days in a bed.
I dont know why you dident feel any pain, but it might be due to the fact that certain parts of the body have more nerves than other parts. By cutting OFF the nerves, that could explain why you felt no pain. Because you had nothing to feal the pain for you!
When I was younger, I smashed my head on the corner of a fireplace. It felt like nothing, and I had no pain at all! When my brother saw me, he looked shocked.
I went up to the bathroom and looked in the mirror. Blood was draining down my skull, alot of blood. Ya so I went in the ER and such. Strangly, I reamber I could see myself from the docters point of view. *.* it was weird.

Well, its fully healed over now. even though now i have a pretty much permanant scar on my arm. my friend thinks its awesome, cuz it looks like a check. or a J. or something. Lol.
